“We envision a Kalamazoo Community that honors dignity, fosters community bonds, and values the environment.”

- ENNA Foundation Board

Why We Give

We believe that communities thrive when they are:

  • sufficiently resourced

  • safe to connect and build trust

  • invited to solve problems and shape their own future

In these conditions, we know that communities can:

  • mend what’s been broken

  • grow what’s already working

  • imagine what does not yet exist

What We Fund

We support organizations that:

  • deepen collective capacity

  • restore social connection

  • bridge differences

  • dismantle systemic barriers

We invite partners to:

  • experiment

  • adapt

  • grow collective strength

  • create imaginative and sustainable paths forward

How We Work

We strive to:

  • resist the illusion of separateness

  • pay attention to what’s emerging around us

  • practice accountability

  • engage in reciprocity

  • participate in power-with models of partnership

We understand that change in complex systems requires:

  • patience

  • curiosity

  • creativity

  • vulnerability

  • willingness to fail and learn from failure
